martin short on ellen (lit'rally)

i've been watching a lot of Jiminy Glick lately, and i found ellen being interviewed. it's weird because she's not warm nor friendly, though she is hilarious and lovable, still. but it was in 2003, right before ellen started doing her talk show. but idk i feel like jiminy was overcompensating for her being a lesbian. whatevz. i like this kinda tightass version of her, though, it feels closer to who she is. i've heard she's kind of mean, so i want to believe it. also, bad bitches gettin money, so it's like chyeah get it.




and then here's maw'in on ellen's talk show, where el's bright and ya know, the perfect host, and martin is the perfect guest. lol he seriously looks handsome and is so charming. i recently was in a situation where i was like, "but so-and-so is the perrrfect guyyy for me" -- the "but" because the feeling isn't mutual, and the rhetorical statement is, i guess, complaining to god. and i thought about how i never say that about other people nevertheless myself. nevvver myself. even my parents, who ARE perfect for each other, my mom was like once, "nope, couldn't have worked out with anybody else." i was like psh plz bitch there's like 100 'perfect' 'the one'(s) for everyone, you meet like 20 of them over your life and explore the possibility with like 5 if you're lucky and really date and live and love with 2 at most if you're LUCKY. most people it's like 0! and i was like, "and you and dad found each other and stuck with it, but that doesn't mean others wouldn't be a possibility. what about norman?" norman's the father of this family that is our family friends, who we spend holidays with after we spend them with our blood relatives. my mom was like, "oh. well... maybe you're right" hahaha she had never considered it before, but it's like... see?? it could be possible with anybody you love. i think it's MORE special that we CHOOSE who we want to work with and live next to in life and partner with rather than 'god' plucking the person out of the clouds and placing him/her in our personal narratives. reality is way more romantic than any shit we can make up. annnnyway, so i was like "he's the perfect guy for me, and i NEVER say that!" and then when i thought about it, another One for me is martin short. if i could go back in time and bring a young martin short to me now, i think he would be one of The Ones. lol he's perfect for me.
